Hello from Pittsburgh! In less then two weeks I will be in Atlanta, Georgia for the World Race training camp. Then in less then 3 weeks I will be living in Johannesburg, South Africa! WOW!
These past three months have been very busy, but great. I graduated from Waynesburg University in May (praise the Lord), went on my first ever backpacking trip (yeahh ask me about that week ;)) , and worked my butt off studying for my nursing boards exam while working full time. In July, I officially became Brenna Flynn BSN, RN. After a few days at the beach, I was back to the busyness of life with working, but now preparing for the next three months to join the World Race mission team instead of studying (I definitely prefer it this way). It’s definitely a strange time in life filled with transitions.
This week, I’ve had time to slow down and reflect and look ahead at the path the Lord has led me to. I think about how a few years ago my plan was to graduate, start working as a full-time pediatric nurse, move into the city, and start living a life of independence. It wasn’t until about two years ago where I stepped outside of what I wanted my future to look like and looked towards where the Lord was leading me. As I prayed and spent more intimate time within the Word, it was then that I recognized that the plans He has for me are filled with so much peace, growth, and love. I cannot explain the peace I fell right now as I prepare to go to Africa with my team. I know so many factors can change in the coming weeks, but the best part about that is that it is all completely out of my control. I’ve experienced so many moments where I am able to recognize His faithfulness like never before since setting my eyes on the Lord and I know He will provide. Daily I remind myself that the God we serve is such a faithful, steadfast Father through all the changes in life.
Hebrews 12:1 “fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
Words cannot express how beyond blessed I feel by all the love and support I have received by all of you over the past few months. I truly thank you all. I am almost at my fundraising goal, and I would not have made it without the support you have all given me financially and through prayer. As I head into these final weeks in Pittsburgh, please pray as my team and I as we prepare to start this journey together.
Blessings,
Brenna:)
